The Orozco-Zapata Mausoleum was commissioned by the Orozco-Zapata Family from Sergey Gornushkin as a permanent memorial to Rafael Orozco-Zapata who founded the town of Puertecitos in 1949. This memorial tower also serves to honor his wife Olga Orozco and son Carlos Orozco, who are also no longer with us, as well as their three living daughters, Clara, Virginia and Josefina Orozco for their past and continuing contributions to managing the town of Puertecitos and continuing the towns legacy of providing residents and tourists alike with all the amenities which include sulfur hot spring baths, a boat ramp, camping palapas, hotel, restaurant, gas station, a grocery market, an art gallery and a wellness center. Puertecitos also boasts an impressive public art collection of over 10 large-scale pieces which transforms this town into a world class destination!
