The Junior Seau Memorial was commissioned by Roosevelt Middle School to commemorate the joint use field that was built behind the school to serve the local community. Todd Gloria’s office along with Mayor Kevin Faulconer will dedicate the field to Jr. Seau’s name and will unveil the artwork to the public which will include Jr. Seau’s foundation, San Diego Chargers and his family members. The memorial is composed of a seating “love” bench and a column pedestal with Jr. Seau’s bronzed bust atop. The artwork completes the ensemble of three sculptures at Roosevelt built by Sergey Gornushkin over the period of three years.
